CSU Documentation Study: Initial letter to library directors
From RG-Bibliowiki
Dear CSU Library Dean/Director
I am writing to invite the department managers/coordinators in your library to participate in an online survey addressing documentation and knowledge management practices, tools and resources within CSU libraries. With the ever-increasing pace of change in libraries and anticipated retirement of many current librarians, preserving institutional memory has become increasingly critical for day-to-day operations, guidelines and policies. This survey, followed by short interviews with a small sample of respondents, primarily aims to record the current state of documentation and knowledge management practices in the CSU libraries. I also plan to analyze the data for patterns and trends, with an eye toward a broader study among libraries across the U.S.
I will greatly appreciate your help in forwarding the information to your managers/coordinators and encouraging them to participate. They can find the survey at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=687352927788 and should use the password "****" to login. The survey period runs until midnight, Dec. 15, 2006. Attached is a more detailed description of the purpose and nature of the survey.
If you have any questions, please contact me or visit the project website at http://tinyurl.com/glr73
